Season Structure

  • Teams will consist of 6 to 8 performers with at least 3 of both sexes.

  • Each team will need a captain and co-captain that will be in charge of submitting their song list each week.

  • The regular season lasts for 6 weeks and will be followed by 1 week for playoffs.

  • The season schedule is never released.  Your captain will be notified of your team’s assigned time slot before each week.  Each team will compete against one other team in their assigned time slot each week.

  • A new theme for karaoke will be chosen every week.  80s, 90s, One Hit Wonders, Holiday, Boyband/Girlband, Disney, etc…

  • Each team gets three songs each night to use in competition against their opponent.  The rounds shall be ladies solo, men’s solo, and group.  Group songs must have at least two performers.  During solo rounds the singer will be allowed to use his/her teammates for props or dancers but they are not allowed to sing.

  • At noon on the Thursday before competition, each captain shall submit a list of their chosen songs to the commissioner.  If two teams choose the same song, whichever team submitted the song first will sing that particular song.

  • Once a song has been sung it may not be sung again.  A running list of already played songs will be available on the league site.

  • Don’t get too caught up on the scores of teams who you are not playing against that night…the scoring is just the metric we use to show who won or lost that match and the scale used to judge may differ based on types of team from match to match.

  • Season rankings are determined by number of wins.  In case of a tie, we use total points scored and then winner of the head-to-head match-up.

  • After every performance, a panel of judges will score the singers on two 10-point scales on how well they:
    ○   “Sing It” (singing ability, song difficulty, incorporating multiple teammates in groups songs)
    ○   “Bring It” (showmanship) – dancing, costumes, audience interaction, etc.

  • Ties will go into a sudden death Hall and Oates round.

  • Teams will be seeded for a single elimination tournament.
