ALPHAbar started in 2007 in San Francisco as an excuse for friends to keep meeting up during the winter offseason for kickball. It began as year-long bi-weekly Wednesday night bar crawl. It was named ALPHAbar because each season we went to 26 bars that started with each letter of the alphabet. We did the alphabet FIVE times through and ALPHAbar has since turned into random fundraisers, pub crawls, and now karaoke leagues.
